Mix on paper with Oil Pastels and Water Color Paints

o Blue
• Secondary colors – mixture of 2 primary colors
o Red + Yellow = Orange
o Yellow + Blue = Green

• Analogous – Using colors next to each other on the color wheel
• Complementary – Using colors opposite each other on the color wheel

Fall Leaves: Study of Analogous Colors, Complementary Color, Wax-Resist Technique (I got this wonderful project idea from Eva Johansson)

• Cover sheet of paper with oil pastels in ‘Analogous colors’ : Yellow, Orange, Red
• Tear into small pieces “leaves”
• Imagine looking up into the branches of a tree. Then on clean sheet of paper draw branches with brown oil pastel
• Paste “leaves” onto branches
• Cover sheet with blue (Complementary of Orange) water color paint
